Curriculum

Toddler Chinese

Early Chinese education has no age limit—the sooner, the better!

Research shows that newborns can distinguish at least 72 Chinese sounds, but this ability fades with age. Children are natural imitators and highly curious, making them ideal for early education through auditory and visual input. Based on years of teaching young overseas Chinese children, Teacher Coco suggests the following for ages 0-3:

  1. Nursery Rhymes: Use interactive, life-related, and rhythmic Chinese nursery rhymes to engage children and boost language learning.

  2. Picture Books: Choose picture books with large, colorful images and minimal text to capture young children’s interest and encourage reading.

  3. Flash Cards for 0-3-Year-Olds:Flash cards with simple images and basic Chinese characters help young children recognize words and improve pronunciation. The repetition aids memory retention, making Chinese language learning engaging and effective.
